Privacy Policy
Sippy Downs Health Precinct
Last updated: 16 June 2026
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains how Sippy Downs Health Precinct collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information, and how you can access or correct it.
We are committed to handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and, where relevant, Queensland health privacy laws. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Sippy Downs Health Precinct, and “you” refers to the person whose personal information we hold.
Sippy Downs Health Precinct is currently under construction and is not yet open to patients. At this stage, this policy applies mainly to information we collect through our website and from people who contact us, register their interest, or enquire about consulting and leasing opportunities. We will update this policy to cover patient and health information before any clinical services begin.
1. The information we collect
The personal information we collect depends on how you interact with us. It may include:
- Your name, email address, and suburb or postcode
- The reason you are contacting us (for example, whether you are a specialist, a GP, a community member, a job seeker, or media)
- Details you provide in an enquiry, registration, or leasing form, including any message you write to us
- Information about your professional practice, if you are enquiring about a consulting suite or lease
- Technical information collected automatically when you visit our website, such as your device type, browser, and how you use the site (see Section 6, Cookies and website analytics)
Once we are open and providing care, we will collect health information, which is a type of sensitive information under the Privacy Act. We will only collect health information with your consent or where the law allows or requires it, and we will update this policy before we begin doing so.
2. How we collect your information
We collect personal information directly from you wherever we can. This usually happens when you:
- Complete a form on our website
- Email us or otherwise get in touch
- Register your interest in the precinct or in a consulting or leasing opportunity
- Apply for, or express interest in, a role with us
In some cases we may collect information about you from third parties, for example a recruitment agency or a referring practice, where it is reasonable and practical to do so. If we collect your information from someone else, we will take reasonable steps to make sure you are aware of this policy.
3. Why we collect and use your information
We collect and use personal information so that we can:
- Respond to your enquiry and stay in touch with you
- Provide you with information about the precinct, including opening updates and construction progress, where you have asked to receive it
- Assess and manage leasing and consulting suite enquiries
- Consider expressions of interest in working with us
- Improve our website and understand how people use it
- Meet our legal, regulatory, and record-keeping obligations
We will only use your information for the purpose you gave it to us, for a related purpose you would reasonably expect, or where you have given consent or the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information.
4. When we disclose your information
We treat your information as confidential. We may share it with others only where it is necessary to do what you have asked, or where the law allows or requires it. This may include:
- Service providers who help us operate, such as our website host, email, and IT providers
- Our professional advisers, where reasonably required
- Government agencies, regulators, or law enforcement, where we are legally required or authorised to disclose
We require our service providers to protect your information and to use it only for the purpose we have engaged them for.
5. Storing your information overseas
Some of the service providers we use may store data on servers located outside Australia. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. If we cannot be reasonably satisfied that an overseas recipient will protect your information to that standard, we will seek your consent before disclosing it, unless the law allows otherwise.
6. Cookies and website analytics
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to help the site work properly and to understand how visitors use it. Cookies are small files stored on your device. They help us with things like remembering your preferences and measuring website traffic.
Most of the information we collect this way is general and does not identify you personally. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when a site uses them, though some parts of our website may not work as well if you do.
7. Keeping your information secure
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, and disclosure. These steps include secure storage, restricted access, and appropriate technical and organisational safeguards.
When we no longer need your personal information, and we are not required by law to keep it, we will take reasonable steps to destroy it or to permanently de-identify it.
8. Accessing and correcting your information
You have the right to ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if it is wrong, out of date, incomplete, or misleading.
To make a request, contact us at the details in Section 11. We will respond within a reasonable time. In most cases there is no charge to access your information, though we may need to verify your identity first. If we are unable to give you access or make a correction, we will explain why in writing.
9. Direct marketing
If you have given us your details, we may occasionally send you updates about the precinct that we think will interest you, such as opening news or progress milestones. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any message, or by contacting us directly. We will action your request promptly.
